Traffic restrictions persist in 2 regions of Kazakhstan due to high water

Traffic restrictions persist in Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions due to high water, Kazinform has learned from Kazakhavtodor. Sections of the Yekaterinburg-Almaty and Sarykol village-border of North Kazakhstan region highways were closed for all types of transport in Kostanay region due to flooding. Sections of the Chelyabinsk-Novosibirsk highway in North Kazakhstan region were shut down for the same reason. Washaways are observed on the Yekaterinburg-Almaty highway as well.

Landslide closed road in Almaty

According to Almaty Emergency Department, landslide hit the eastern side of Mohnatka Mountain in Almaty.

The volume of the mudslide was about 700 cubic meters. It is informed that due to the landslide Medeu-Chimbulak road was closed.

Rescue operation is underway.

Three roads remain flooded in N Kazakhstan

North Kazakhstan region’s authorities have shut down the following roads: “Chelyabinsk-Novosibirsk” (525-530 km), “Saumalkol-Novoishimsky-Chervonnoye” (40-45 km), “Pokrovka-Korneyevka”, due to meltwater overflow.

Bad weather shuts down roads in Aktobe and Kostanay regions

Several roads have been closed in Aktobe and Kostanay regions since early Sunday morning for bad weather.

Sections of the Kandyagash-Emba-Shalkar-Irgiz and Aktobe-Rodnikovka-Martuk highways were shut down due to blowing snow and black ice.

Authorities in Kostanay region closed a section of the Sarykol-Bolshiye-Dubravy motorway for all types of transport due to blizzard and poor visibility.
